James D.S. Pruett

Jamie leads search engagements for high-performing executives and their direct reports in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sectors, as well as within the financial/professional services industry. For the past 18 years, he has worked in search with outstanding, inspiring, and purpose-driven clients that are both large and small, publicly-traded, and private-equity backed.

Jamie is responsible for leading the Healthcare and Life Science practice, developing and managing client relationships on a national basis, leading client engagements, and delivering high-performing talent within the C-suite, operations, finance, human resources, strategy, research and development, and sales.

Prior to Lantern Partners, Jamie was a Managing Director in the Healthcare and Life Science practices for a leading mid-sized executive search firm. He also has experience as a Senior Client Partner and as an Associate with two of the world’s largest search firms. Prior to his career in search, Jamie was a management consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), leading human capital, organizational development, and change management engagements within Healthcare Services and Life Sciences sectors (including pharmaceutical, medical device, and payor sectors).

As of June 2019, Jamie will serve on the Board of Trustees for Bishop Anderson House (partner with Rush University Medical Center).

Jamie has an MBA in Healthcare and Marketing from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and a BA in English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

Jamie currently lives in Chicago’s north shore with his three children, Jamie, Lainey, and Grace. For the past seven years, he has coached all of his children in various sports, including baseball and soccer, and has been actively involved with his son in Scouting.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Jamie moved to Chicago after graduating from the University of Michigan. Having lived in Lincoln Park, as well as the northern suburbs, Jamie remains a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, despite being firmly planted in Cub Country. He is an avid outdoorsman, loves fly fishing, enjoys field sport, and is particularly passionate about pursuing wild turkey in the Missouri Ozarks.

Jamie also enjoys playing and performing music, golf, squash, working out, and running.
