Collin L. Sprau

Collin recruits senior executives across a wide variety of industries with an emphasis on technology officers and their direct reports in mid-cap and large industrial companies.

Collin has completed over 300 searches in technology, industrial, financial services and health care companies. His assignments are often for CIOs, CTOs and their direct reports, but also include presidents, CFOs, sales/marketing executives, consultants and shared services officers. His clients include global corporations, private equity portfolio companies, start-ups, professional services firms and family-held enterprises. Collin joined Lantern Partners in 2009 in a search career that began with five years at a technology boutique, followed by seven years with Ray & Berndtson, and ten years leading the Midwest’s information officers practice for Korn/Ferry International.

Previously, Collin was co-founder and VP of Field Operations for Metafile Information Systems, an IBM Business Partner that developed and marketed integrated data/image systems with consulting services. During the first eight years of his career, he held functional roles in sales, marketing and general management for American Hospital Supply Corp.

Collin’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Minnesota and his MBA is from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Collin has been active in the community with many years of experience as a Scout Master, school board member, fund raiser and community development volunteer.

After raising their five children on Chicago’s north shore, he and his wife moved to the city, presently living in Lincoln Park. In addition to family time, Collin enjoys golf, racquet sports, skiing, fitness, and especially building and driving hot rods from the 30’s and 40’s.

Collin was raised on the family grain and livestock farm in Iowa. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
