News Release: Lantern Partners selected to recruit a new Chief Operating Officer for Golden Apple Foundation

CHICAGO – Lantern Partners, a retained senior executive recruiting firm, is currently recruiting a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its pro bono client, the Golden Apple Foundation.

The Golden Apple Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to inspire, develop, and support teacher excellence in Illinois, especially in schools of need. Founded nearly 30 years ago and with offices in downtown Chicago, the organization has a rich heritage of impact, including recognizing nearly 300 superior teachers, as well as recruiting, training, placing, and continuing to mentor nearly 1,500 teachers in Chicago Public Schools and across Illinois through its signature Golden Apple Scholars Program.

Against this backdrop, and at the request of Chicago Public Schools, the Foundation is seeking to aggressively grow its impact over the next decade – – tripling its Golden Apple Scholars program from the current size of 180 scholars per year to a graduating class of 500+ by 2024.

The Board and CEO believe that the creation of a first-ever Chief Operating Officer role will be essential to the successful attainment of this ambitious goal and its resulting impact.
