BrightStar Care, a leading franchisor of medical and non-medical home healthcare and supplemental medical staffing backed by Peak Rock Capital, retained Lantern Partners to recruit its Vice President, AI Strategy & Enablement. BrightStar Care was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Bannockburn, Illinois. BrightStar Care offers a full range of in-home care, from companion and personal care to skilled nursing, infusion therapy and hospital-at-home programs. It is the only national home care franchise system whose agencies pursue Joint Commission accreditation across the network.
As BrightStar Care continues to grow, the company created a new senior leadership role to set its AI strategy and align the executive team and franchisee network on how AI will be used in the business. The role will also make sure every investment delivers measurable value for the support center, franchise owners, and the clients and families they serve. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dalton Sycks as Vice President, AI Strategy & Enablement.

Sycks brings nearly a decade of experience across healthcare, life sciences and enterprise transformation, with a focus on taking AI from strategy through production. Most recently, he served as a Director at Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting business. There he led AI and operating-model transformations for pharmaceutical, life sciences and MedTech clients, and helped build the firm’s AI transformation offering. His work included leading an agentic AI deployment for a global MedTech company, taking accounts payable and vendor-support agents from design into live production across the Americas. Before Strategy&, Sycks led healthcare sales at Revation Systems (now LinkLive), a HIPAA- and HITRUST-compliant communications software company, and was a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group. He holds a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Duke University.
At BrightStar Care, Sycks will serve as the company’s senior leader for AI, reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the executive team and franchisee leadership. He will focus on setting BrightStar Care’s AI strategy and roadmap, delivering the highest-value use cases at the support center and across the franchise network, and putting in place the governance needed to scale AI responsibly in a regulated healthcare environment. His mix of technical depth, hands-on delivery and healthcare background makes him well suited to help BrightStar Care turn AI into a practical advantage for franchise owners, caregivers, nurses, and the families they serve.
